Hello friends, and welcome to week 3 of Countdown to T-Day! I can’t believe we’re halfway through November already! I hope everyone is doing well with Thanksgiving Day preparations! It’s been a good week, but we’ve got more to do!
This week, I was able to unpack 3 of the 5 boxes, and do some extra cleaning. I’m going to show some before and after pictures of how far we’ve come since we moved in, in June. We don’t own the house, so we are a bit limited in what we can do-I’d love to paint over the paneling and white wash the fireplace, but that’s okay. We’ll just have to be creative. 😉 Here we go!
This is how the living room looked before we moved in.
We rearranged the furniture a bit after we moved in. I’ll admit, I was so embarrassed of our living room-I called it the furniture store. You had to zigzag through all the furniture! That’s why I carefully took pictures of it. That’s Mo sitting on my hope chest turned coffee table. My grandpa made it for me. 🙂
Here’s what it looks like today. Less furniture, a new couch-found it in our garage, our own pictures, and decorated for Fall! Ron is decorating the couch, and Jar Jar wanted to be in this photo, too.
Here’s the basement before we moved in. Ahhhh! More paneling-at least this is actual wood. Upstairs is all fake, and it’s in every single room except the kitchen. The kitchen has fake brick paneling, and ugly wallpaper. Necessity is indeed the mother of invention! This white poster board was for a projector style movie setup.
Ugly sleeper couches, and game tables -great for the Teen Hangout, which we helped with. Now that this program is no longer in place, we needed to come up with something different.
We both enjoy gaming-video games, board games, and tabletop gaming.
We both like Warhammer, and now we have a great set up. We have our models on the shelves right next to the table. Yay!
We plan on putting shelves where the poster board was, so I can finally get my Breyer horse models out of boxes!
I can’t wait to show the updates to our Thanksgiving guests. Half of them have seen the updates. It’s nice to have a better setup for having people over. Now to go grocery shopping! Yikes!
I hope you enjoyed the before and after pics. We are almost at the end of week three of countdown to T-Day-time flies! I hope you all have a great weekend!
