Good morning Ladies! I am going to introduce a new idea for my blog, called Taking a Girly Moment. Toward the end of each post, I will take a girly moment and chat about a fun way to sit back, relax, and enjoy being a girl. Self explanatory, right? I will be taking my own advice, and encouraging you to do the same, so we can all enjoy being girls together! 😉
Earlier this week, I was able to take a big girly moment, and watched all of the Anne of Green Gables mini series, over two days. The first day was my Hubby’s 40th birthday! Such a sweetie! I did make him his favorite cake!
You can see Anne in the background, while he’s blowing out his candles! While watching this mini series, I was able to reconnect with the girl I had been, before I got married. A girl full of hope and dreams and imagination. This didn’t stop once I got married, but it changed, or I changed. We had a lot on our plate, dealing with custody issues and Ron’s health, and not much income. I grew cynical and began to lose hope. God is faithful, and He saw us through. He never left us, or forsook us. He provided, and protected us. He loved us. He has continued to do all those things to this day! Through quiet moments, reading God’s word and praying, and girly moments, reconnecting with the girl I was, I am slowly emerging as a new woman. My cup is being refilled, and running over. I am better able to serve God, and be a help mate to my husband, as well as a better Step-Mom to my son, even if it’s long distance.
That’s what taking a girly moment is all about. Be thankful for who God made you, and make it your resolve to reach your highest potential for Him! Refill your cup with girly moments along the way, so you can help refill the cups of your family and friends.
This week’s girly moment for me was watching the Anne of Green Gables mini series, and reconnecting with the girl of my youth. Remembering my best friend, who introduced me to Anne, and all the adventures and misadventures we had. It reminded me to dream again, and let my imagination soar! It also reminded me that I need to call my friend, so we can share a girly moment together!
So take a girly moment this week, and maybe call a girlfriend to share it with you! Grab a cup of coffee, tea, or cocoa, and watch a movie or show, read a book, listen to music, and just enjoy being a girl.
